Cornton – Our Story

Robert Smith and Thomas Graham are mentioned in many of the historical property transactions which involve the development of the Bridgehaugh Area in the mid 19th Century.

The Bridgehaugh land, to the North of the River, (and most of the land along the southern bank) was owned by the Cowanes Hospital Trust who, in a number of transactions sold individual pieces to these two gentlemen.

Thomas Graham’s name crops up in the 1865 Valuation Roll as Poprietor of the “Wool Mill & (indistinguishable), Old Bridge, Stirling; and tenant of a “House, Forthside”
