When McGrouther’s Bacon Curing establisment ceased trading in 1971 it was reportedly purchased by the Farmers’ Marketing Corporation. We have been unable to glean any information on that entity and assume that the property was then leased by them to Kirkpatrick’s of Scotland and then Harris of Scotland, both of whom, according to anecdotal evidence, operated from the site in the years between 1971 and 1990.
